can i change the name and business of an llc that i currently own, or do i have to create a new llc

As a Franchise Attorney I can say the following. In virtually every state, all you need to do is file an amendment to the articles of organization of your LLC. This changes the name for the old one to the new one. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
