Franchise
I was told if I buy land and build a building I would get a franchise. I did, now the franchise was given to someone else. What can I do?

Re: Franchise
Without seeing the contract between you and the promisor, it is difficult to provide a specific answer. In general, a party may be able to recover money damages in a situation like this IF there was fraud, misrepresentation, or a breach of contract, to name a few causes of action. Typical money damages might include lost profits on the franchise, return of down payment or purchase price, punitive damages, etc. You really should speak to an attorney because without reviewing the contract (I'm assuming you had a contract with the person/company that made you this promise), I cannot say if your situation fits what is typical because some contracts limit money damages, etc. Good luck!
