Legal Question in Business Law in Alabama
In June 2009 my husband and I signed a contract to get a new roof. I believe the amount was $6,500. I do not have a copy of the contract with me at this time. The roof was put on in September 2009. A month later I received a bill for $3,500. I called the company and asked the lady if this was the correct amount. She said yes and I paid the bill. We got a call from them yesterday saying they made a mistake and we owe them $3,000 dollars. Do we legally have to pay this?

I would say yes because you acknowledge the amount which they quoted you for the business. you received the services and they have billed you the amount they quoted you, albeit, they billed late for the balance. Count yourself lucky, you got the use of your money longer than expected.
