Legal Question in Consumer Law in Alabama
We bought a 2007 Pathfinder in 2008. We bought it as a 4 wheel drive. Well we could never get the 4 wheel drive to work so we took it in last week because it was still under warranty. They called us and said that is is actually a 2 wheel drive. They sold us a 2 wheel drivecar at 4 wheel drive price. It is on the bill of sale and a "150 Point check" inspection. The inside of the car has the 4 wheel drive button but the car itself is 2 wheel drive.
They are only wanting to give us $2,000.00 to cover the difference when actually there is a $3,000.00 difference between my car and a 2007 with 2 wheel drive. Not including the trouble this has put us through, and the fact we were sold something wasn't what it said it was. This company is a huge company that prides itself in selling used cars that have been through so many inspections. Just wanting to get a different opinion for when I call the dealership back today.
Thank you!

It sounds like they misrepresented the vehicle to you. They should buy the Pathfinder back if that's the case. Would you have purchased the vehicle had you known it wasn't four wheel drive? When did you find out it wasn't four wheel drive?
I would need to see the purchase documents to give you a more complete answer. This seems like something the dealership should have known when they sold you the vehicle.
