Legal Question in Consumer Law in Alabama
A collection agency reported bogus charges to credit agencies
A former landlord reported me to a collection agency on bogus charges to a firm in Atlanta, GA. After 4 months of disputing the charges, going thru the verification process, etc. they stop trying to collect on the charges but still reported me to all 3 credit agencies as an unpaid account, after they could not provide me with any proof. Can I still sue this collection agency because even though I might have deleted them off of my credit report, who's to say they might not try to sell this account to other collection junk buyers and I will have to go thru this whole vicious collection cycle again? I would also like to my former landlord for producing these bogus charges and lying in court when she sent the assitant apt. mgr. in to court instead of coming herself and lying about the entire debt. (I have proof of that also.)

You may have a claim, but I would need more information. Was there a lawsuit? What documentation do you have? Have you spoken to them about the reporting to the credit bureaus? What was their response? You may e-mail me more information at [email protected].
