Legal Question in Consumer Law in Alabama
significant damage from house settling
I live in a 4 year old house that we built. Monday night the house had an abrupt significant movement and settleing in it. We have damage inside and out. My neighbors house also did the same thing. They have more damage than we do. Do you have any experience in this.? any advice?

Re: significant damage from house settling
An engineer might be needed to determine if the contractor properly constructed the home. Have you contacted your homeowners insurance carrier? It is difficult to give you any answers without knowing more facts and viewing all of the paperwork when you purchased the home.
