Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Alabama

Cash Advance

I live in the state of GA where cash advances are illegal. I got a cash advance in the state of alabama. I recently had a family emergency and was unable to pay it back on time. They sent a letter stating I have until 8/10 to pay it or they will take me to court and i will have to pay all applicable fees(court fees, the entire amount due, etc). Are they allowed to do that so soon or are they just trying to scare me? I cannot have the full amount paid by then. What can I do?

Re: Cash Advance

If you choose to go to another state to transact business, you normally cannot later complain it is illegal in your state of residency.

Re: Cash Advance

If it's past due, it's collectable in court should they so choose.
