Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Alabama

My husband has judgements against our property for outstanding debts because he is disabled and unable to work , If I divorce my husband and he gives up all rights to our property can those judgements still be collected on our property? We are in Alabama.

Sorry, I don't think your idea will work. Once placed, the judgment stays with the property. If the property were sold or transferred, the judgments would stay with it. It's designed that way so if you refinanced a mortgage or sold the property to a third party, the judgments would have to be satisfied in order for the property to be transferred free and clear.
