Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Alabama
After my husbands surgery, we had a hospital bill that I was making monthly payments on. The hospital turned the account over to a collections attorney. I paid them every month but they still reported it on my credit report. What can I do. The bill is paid in Full, now.

You have the right to submit a statement to the three primary credit reporting agencies and that statement will be posted on your account for anyone who reviews your account to see. There you can explain why you did not pay the full amount of the hospital bill when released (obviously when a person is sick they are not working, etc.) and that you did pay monthly payments until it was all paid and now is paid in full. Or, you can contact that attorney's office or the hospital, whichever is reporting the debt, and ask them to remove the debt as you did pay it in full.
