Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Alabama

is it legal for a company that my grandson just started working for, to take his first pay for a credit card his wife did in his name (without his knowledge, he has NEVER had a credit card in his life) and ran it up and now she passed away...but she went to court before she got sick and paid them all so we were told, and explained that SHE did it in his name without his knowledge...now a year later after she passed, he gets a really good job and this is what came up with first pay..the took it all for the credit card payment she apparently didn't turn in to the court? is this legal? The question is was HE SUED BY SOMEONE AND THEY GOT A JUDGMENT AGAINST HIM. The only way a company would garnish his wages would be if they got a judgment. So you need to go to the court and get the case file. ALL OF IT. Then see what the judges order says. If he was SUED and didn't answer he would have forfeited. You cant get an answer to your question without knowing if he was SUED. First stop Monday morning should be the Courthouse and see how many times he has been sued. Then CALL a lawyer. Good luck.
