Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Alabama
notice of pending lawsuit
I received a letter from a law firm stating that according to public records I was currently being sued by a credit union that I have a credit card with. The letter was not from the firm filing the suit. They were offering bankruptcy services. I have received no notice from the firm representing the credit union. Do they have to notify me? If they don't, how can I defend myself?

Re: notice of pending lawsuit
You WILL get notified BEFORE they can get a judgment. Make SURE you are being sued by the actual credit card company (Credit Union) and NOT a debt buyer - Arrow Financial, CACH, CACV, etc. If you are being sued by a debt buyer - defend!- defend!- defend!
Call if you need help.
