Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Alabama

in oct. i had a kidney stone blasted.i have no insurance due to being only employed part-time and those hrs. even went down in jan. to only 10-15hrs. weekly.my bills are at about $80,000.i have tried to send something to each one.now can they still garnish or sue me if i simply don't have the means to pay.i was told if i just sent something they could not.

Any creditor that you owe money to can eventually file a suit against you, and if they recover a judgment against you, can file a lien against property you own, bank accounts you have or garnish wages you make. The factors that determine whether they will or not depends on how much you are paying them, how much the debt is and their chances of a recovery if they do get a judgment.
