You cannot "stop" someone from suing you if you signed the contract; however, you need to take action to defend yourself. If you do not, then the creditor will likely get a default judgment against you and execute on that judgment any number of ways, including placing a lien on your home, garnishment of income, or attachment/levy of a bank account.
