Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama

Acused of child abuse How do I protect my family

I just got married and now have a stepdaughter. I already have 2 children and one one the way. My husbands exwife has told him that he is not to disiplin thier girl and she shouldn't be made to help clean up like the other girls. She has accused me of beating my children and that I had better not ever lay a hand on her child again. I have never disiplined thier child I leave that up to my husband. I'm affraid that she will go to the police and turn me in if he dosn't give in to her demands, which are many but basicaly he can see her but not around me or my children. He must choose his daughter or his new family. What do I do to protect myself and my children? I haven't done anything wrong but now I'm scared to even be in the same room with my stepdaughter.

Your husband will have to file an action in his divorce or custody case to get a clarification on your situation. This would be a domestic, not a criminal case (not yet). As always, contact a lawyer with the details (were they married/divorced?) 334-678-7780.
