Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama

Credit Card Fraud

I have a friend that lives with and cares for an elderly lady. She is responsible for picking up her medication and paying for it on the lady's credit card. Over a period of three years little by little my friend charged some personal items to the lady's credit card whille picking up her presciptions. The total amount of these charges is appoximately $10,000.00 now. The lady's relatives have discovered this theft and are now threatining her with legal action and are demanding that she pay back the amount owed by using over 75% of her current income leaving her barely enough money for food. What are my friends legal rights and how much of her income can be demanded for repayment?
