Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama
does detectives/police have the right to check or monitor my text messages for crimnal activity and charge me with that being their only evedince

There would be an evidentiary problem as it would be hard to prove who sent the text message and that it was intended for you. They would have a problem getting it into evidence is what I am trying to say. However, they may use it to discover other evidence which they could use against you.
