Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama
Domestic Violence
Cops were called on scene at 9:30 p.m. for a domestic violence dispute, no one pressed charges. He was held in jail longer than 12 hours. I would like some possible reasons why he was held so long.

Re: Domestic Violence
the new domestic violence law in alabama allows under certain circumstances the detention of the ofender for a period of time beyone what may be normally required for making bail. you need to consult an attorney as soon as possible as there may have been charges made by the officers at the scene.
