Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama
forcing an informant
My boyfriend was pulled over and caught with a small bag of methamphetamine residue. The place he was leaving from was known for sale. The police let him go but told him that a warrant would be issued for his arrest in three days unless he worked with them to bust someone from where he was leaving. Is this legal?

Re: forcing an informant
Oh yes and happens quite frequently. He needs to consult a lawyer so he knows all of his rights and works something out with a lawyer present. Otherwise, he may just be looking at a simple possession charge and they may offer drug court if he has no other charges.
