Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama

hand guns

my wife was visiting a person in alabama some time ago ,while there they put our hand gun in their safe for safety sake.now numerous times i have contacted them to return my firearm,gunsmith at my expense,they refuse to give my gun up.what can i do,short of driving all the way to alabama to retrieve.and then so,what is proceedure to retrieve?

legally, based on your facts, it seems that they have converted your personal property. perhaps a letter from an attorney would get them moving. if not then your only recourse is to take them to court for recovery of your weapon and damages for the conversion of the gun. please call me at 205-879-9595 to discuss this matter further
