Idenify theft

about 2 years ago a person with the same first and last name as mine moved close to me and started using my telephone number on her checks credit accounts, etc. -- she bounced the checks never paid cataolg co., credit cards and jewlery stores and of course they are calling me harrassing me about all of this how can i stop her from contiunung to do this and maybe even worse

i would first make sure that she has your phone number on her checks and make sure that it is not a typographical error. if she has falsely used your phone number you can contact the police in your jurisdiction to see if her actions violate the identity theft law in the state. you could also contact an attorney to determine whether you have a viable cause of action against her in the civil court.
