Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama
Liability
My on-campus apartment was recently burglarized. Since the apartment complex is considered private property, the investigation was handled by the campus police. The investigation was not thorough (no fingerprinting and the person that we suspected was not questioned until about a week later) and the situation was basically brushed off by the campus police. Is the university liable for any part of this.

Re: Liability
You might be able to sue for negligence, but it would be tough.
How much money are we talking about?
Also, if you don't already, get renters insurance.
