Re: Married minor status
alabama law provides generally that an adult is a person 19 years of age or older, a child is a person under 18 years of age. a person is incapable of entering into a marriage when under 14 years of age. a person can contract marriage with parental consent and special procedures for that consent when that person is under 18 years of age. if a person under 18 years of age and over 14 years of age entered into a marriage with the proper parental consent, then the marriage would be valid if all of the other necessary laws regarding marriage were followed. alabama law states that a woman 18 years who is married is considered an adult as if she were 19 years of age. another sexual partner when married could lead to legal complications later on. you need to consult with an attorney face to face before taking any steps regarding this situation as i am sure there are more facts that need to be addressed in order to provide a complete answer.
