Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama

parole release date

My daughter was paroled from Tutwilder Woman's Prison on 3-11-09, (failed drug test while on probation) she has yet to be released. She was told by prison Dr that she had cervical cancer but they have done nothing about it but a biopsy. She still does not have a release date. and they will not give any info on her health. I have custody of her 2 daughters 8 & 1, and she has been accepted at Teen Challenge rehab. is there any way I can find out what the hold up is on her release and get her the medical attention she needs?

Re: parole release date

First, check the Alabama Department of Corrections website. At http://www.doc.state.al.us/inmsearch.asp you can look up her release date, to see when she is supposed to get out. You may be able to find out the information you need there.

Regarding her cancer, if they are keeping her in custody then they have a legal obligation to provide her with necessary medical treatment. If they do not release her, then you need to talk to a civil rights attorney to see about filing a court action to force them to provide her with medical treatment.

If we can be of any assistance to you, please give us a call or send me an email. Good luck to you.
