Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama
Very rare case
I have a close buddy who was working at Target last week but quit for a better job off. He gets a call from Target LP asking him to meet with LP, basically told him that he was involved with some stealing in the store and I have been knowing this dude for a while and dont think he did it since he is well off with money and a wealthy family, etc. What should he do? get a lawyer, not even entertain it or what. Someone told me that they cant do a whole lot since he is no longer working there, don't know about that one though.I know some of u guys are LP's so be honest or at least try. He also added that he will get the proper authorities involved if he fails to show up. We are possibly talking around $6000. Suggestions?????????

Re: Very rare case
Well, let me at least "try" to be honest. Do you know what kind of evidence they have against him? Videotape? Witness? Anything? If they believe they have a solid case, they will most likely turn it over to the DA's office and a warrant may be sworn out for him. It would probably not help much to get an attorney involved until they actually do arrest him or issue a warrant. If he is indeed innocent and they try to prosecute, he would have a great case for suing the store for malicious prosecution.
