Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama
search warrants
on search warrant, the descrition of person,place,premises, and/or vehicle to be searched states(address) residence of(name) then description of mobile home. does this mean only person and mobile home can be searched? how about the yard and locked buildings on the premises,or vehicles?

Re: search warrants
usually a search warrant has to be very specific, however a search warrant for a dwelling includes a warrant to search the curtilege (the area around the dwelling). the matter regarding the locked car is different. unless there is some other reason to go into the car, it should not be searched since the car is not listed.
