like to know if a alleged crime was done in 1998. an is just being sent to the grand jury witha secret indictment. is the statues of limitation in force

the statute of limitations begins to run when the crime is committed. the statute of limitations is tolled when the prosecution is begun. the statute of limitations for misdemeanors in ala is 12 months and for felonies the statute of limitations varies from 3 years to never. you need to get with an attorney and give specific information to get a specific answer.
