Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama

Theft

I was caught by loss prevention on Friday at my job (retail store) passing merchandise. I was allowing my family, friends, and some co-workers to bring merchandise to the register and I would only ring up one of the many items and allow them to leave. The loss prevention guy (Alex) knew of at least over $500 I'd passed already and said that he would continue to check for more. There is alot more! Alex called the police while I was at work on Friday, and filed a police report. I wasn't arrested. What should I expect and do now? Will I be arrested? Will I get a felony charge? I'm 20 years old and have a squeaky clean record? Please help!

Re: Theft

The bad news is that you are almost certainly going to be arrested in the very near future. The good news is that as a 20 year old with no criminal history, there may be options available to you to ultimately keep this off of your record. However, you will need the assistance of an experienced criminal defense lawyer to help you get through this situation.

I will be in our firm's new Anniston office this week, and I would be glad to meet with you to discuss your situation in more detail. If you would like to talk about your case, please feel free to give me a call. Dial my 800 number and then press 1 to reach my direct extension.

Good luck with your situation. If I can be of assistance, please give me a call.
