Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama
Youthful Offender?
I was granted YO status at 19. It was explained to me that the charges would not be on my record. However, when I tried to buy a rifle I was refused due to my record. I have only had traffic citations since the YO incident. Are those records really sealed? What can I do????

Re: Youthful Offender?
you need to go to the court that granted you youthful offender status and see if your file was really sealed. if not you need to contact an attorney to look into the matter to protect your interest. if possible you need to check with the place where you tried to buy a rifle and see why you were refused. if it was not your yo case then other steps need to be taken
