Re: Reverse Discrimination
You've asked information about a complex issue.
You've given no facts other than that you "think"
something was done "unfairly."
You do not state how the unspecified acts affected
you. If the acts did not affect you in your
employment in some way,
then you have no case regardless of the facts.
If the acts did not damage you in some way,
then you have no case regardless of the facts.
I'm guessing that you want to ask, "Do I have
some responsibility to do something about the
unfairness I see around me in work?"
That is a question which must be answered by a
lawyer in your state: each state has treated
unlawfulness in the workplace differently.
In Massachusetts, an employer who saw staff
ripping off customers in the store and said
something to the employer was terminated.
She sued.
The court basically said it was none of her
business and said the employer could fire her
for without "good cause," without any good
reason: not liking her was sufficient, or enough
of a reason, to terminate her.
So much for civil responsibility.
I do not know what goes on in Alabama and its
courts.
Advice: phone a local employment lawyer and ask. You don't want to jeopardize your job if it is otherwise a good one and if it will not be easy to get another job.
You will likely NOT be charged for the initial
inquiry. Then you'll know where to go from there.
Good luck.
