School Dress Code Sexual Discrimination

Our school system's dress code #3 states: All visible body piercings with the exception of female earrings are prohibited. My son wore a bandaid covering a small stud earring and was disiplined and forced to remove the earring. Isn't this sexual discrimination since the only reason he was not allowed the earring is for the fact he is male? He had attempted to stay within the dress code by covering the earring making it not visible but was still disiplined. My issue goes beyond that, a male student that graduated from the same school last May was permitted to wear AA batteries in his pierced earlobes. How do I fight this discrimination?

There are many administrative remedies you must follow when you are dealing with a school board. You should first contact the school board and ask them what their procedures are for filing a claim.
