my father has gone into the nursing home and i had to move my mom in with me to take care of her needs they both have dementia! I have just sold the house which has a high mortgage and will only leave enough with social security to continue to provide 24/7 care for my mom. My dad has credit card debt but i will not have funds to continue to make credit card payments what do i do or what will happen?

When you sell the house, it is added to their countable assets and 1/2 must be spent on the nursing home. If your mother needs 24/7 care, then they could both go to the nursing home and all the funds would simply be paid in for their care. In my opinion, if she is not placed, then you should get advice as soon as possible with an elder law attorney in your area.
Not paying the credit card could result in a garnishment against pension benefits, but not social security.
