My mother is going to an assisted living center by a sibling who has power of attorney over her. Can he prevent her other children and friends from visiting her at this center? In the past, he has not allowed anyone to visit her or talk to her on the phone--relative or friend. He will not discuss her finances. At this time, we have no idea where she is. We think she is in an assisted living center. She has been diagnosed with dementia[not bad yet] She still has lucid moments.Is there anything we can do?

No he cannot. If he were her Conservator, perhaps he could but the mere fact that he is her Agent does not grant him this power. You may seek from him an accounting of her assets and you may even question his ability to serve in his capacity as Agent but you will need to consult with an Elder Law attorney for assistance.
