My mother was in a Nursing home in Alabama for seven days for rested care while we were out of town. While there she was not given her oral diabetes medicine and some other meds. She came home blood sugar elevated to the point we had to call the doctor to to get additional medicine to bring her blood sugar down, she spiral down hill from there and was dead five days later. Blood sugar was evelated while she was in nursing according to the records, so why did they not give her medicines
that were ordered? Also some other things happened that were unusual. Can we take legal actions against them?

I would definitely advise that you seek the counsel of an attorney that specializes in nursing home abuse/ law. If there is the neglect present that you have written of then there is probably a strong case for wrongful death, etc. Nursing home law, lawyers are very good at investigating whether the death would have occurred regardless of the efforts of the nursing home or whether real neglect occurred.
