in state of Alabama . family ( mother age 80and her 3- ages 50-60 adult childrens name is on deed.) DOES her home need to be sold and that money be but aside to carry her expense to death. we are looking at need of nursing home very soon.

You will best be served by seeing a local elder law attorney. If I understand that the kids are on the deed as well it is dependent on when the deed was changed to include the kids, what kind of deed, whether at least one child may have lived with your Mom for at least 2 years keeping her out of a nursing home and what her income and assets are.
