Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Im a 16 year old girl from alabama. When i was 10 my mom and dad seperated and my dad moved to Tennessee leaving me and my brother with our mom. We didnt have very good living conditions at all! her boyfriend moved in with us and one night im not sure why but he wrapped me in duck tape so i couldnt move. when i told my cousin sara, she told me i could stay with her and my mom didnt mind. my dad died when i was 12 so i started getting a monthly check she then filed for custody of me. the very last day of my eighth grade year in school we had court for sara to get custody of me, temporary custody was granted. everything was fine living with sara i had everything i needed but it slowly started getting bad. June 2010 sara's father died so she decided she wanted to move to Ohio with her distant family. She never told me she was going but she went and took her boyfriend with her, leaving me with no steady home and no money or no way to take care of myself. i was staying back and forth between my aunts house & 2 different cousins. She moved me to Ohio with her September 2010, the begining of my junior year. She wouldnt buy me anything i needed! she yelled at me for using her shampoo, her body wash or any feminie product telling me i needed to get a job and take care of myself! late november we got into a fight bc i fell asleep after school and didnt wash the dishes, she came home and screamed at me yanking my arm and she even put her hand around my throat. we moved back to AL in December & lived in her moms house. nothing was getting better so sara's brother robert and his wife said i could stay with them. sara hasnt tried to have any kind of contact with me and she is still getting my dads check. is there any way i could get the check & get emancipated? If so, how much will it cost?

Goodness, what a tough spot you are in. You are not old enough to be emancipated in the state of Alabama. You have to be 18 to apply. (19 is the age for adulthood) You can have Sara's brother Robert and his wife petition the court for custody of you. Good luck
