Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

I would like to adopt my step daughter (5 yrs old). Her biological father never signed a birth certificate or anything. She goes by her mom's maiden name. He has never paid child support. He has seen her a few times a couple of years ago and knows its his child. How do I go about this?

You can go through Probate Court for an adoption. You will need an attorney because there are steps that must be taken to assure the legality of the adoption. I will be happy to discuss this with you if you will call my office.
