Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

In Alabama, what are the parents rights' in obtaining records from a child counselor/psychologist as the custodial parent? Can the psychologist refuse to give me the minor's records citing confidentiality?

What is different about this? Is DHR involved? How old is the child. I suspect the child is older and the medical person is asserting patient/doctor privilege. Please supply more facts here. If the child is older and the provider refuses to provide records to you because of what the child may have disclosed he or she can probably defend a privilege in a case like this. THis is a fact driven question, and you have not provided all of the facts. Provide some more information, please..
