Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

brith certificate

My wife was born at home. She has asked her mother for her brith certificate but her mother says that there is not one. My wife was born in 1966 so my question is this how does she get one or who does she need to talk too.

Re: birth certificate

The first thing to do would be to check in Montgomery with the resource that keeps birth certificates. You know she had to have one for school or to get a drivers license. The only other thing that would work would be a family Bible that records dates of birth in there. The local county health department usually is where people would go and provide the information after an at home birth. But in 1966 this did not happen to often. The Department of Vital Statistics in Montgomery should have something and if you have her parents names and date of birth, they can look it up and you can even go there and possibly get one while you wait. I have done this before.
