Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

My brother -in-law recently signed his divorce papers in alabama,a week ago. he is planning on remarrying this monday. can you tell me how long he has to wait. my understanding is that it takes thirty days for a judge to sign off on the divorce and there is a time limit to remarry.

He can't do it. If by "Signing is divorce papers" you mean he signed a settlement agreement and the other papers necessary to allow an uncontested divorce to go forward, the order will not be signed for another 30 days or so. After the divorce is final he has to wait 60 days before he marries anyone other than his ex-wife. If he goes ahead, he will probably be committing bigamy. Tell him "Don't Do It!"
