Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

My brother is wanting to let his new wife adopt his son and my question is if she does and they divorce then will she have rights to fight for custody? The legal mother has had all of her rights taken away.

Yes, she actually becomes the parent, and if they divorced, she could be ordered to pay child support if she does not get custody
