Name Change
What is involved in a legal name change (last name)? My husband was adopted by his stepfather at 6 years of age and his last name was changed. We are considering changing our last name back to the one he was born with. What is the procedure, and are there any restrictions, etc.? My husband is now 43 years old and we have two children, 14 and 11. Thank you.

first check with your local probate court. if you cannot get the name changed with a simple form there you need to call an attorney. there may be an issue with the last name of your children. be sure to advise the clerk of that situation at the probate court
