Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

child paternity

I have been paying monthly support that is not court ordered for a child that I now think may not be mine. What options do I have in getting the mother to give me a DNA test to prove or disprove paternity. And if I am proven not to be the father am I entitled to all monetary compensation that I have provided for the child?

Re: child paternity

You can schedule an appointment with a place that performs DNA tests and take the child during a visitation. That way you find out for sure. Or, you can file a court action on paternity and visitation and get a court order. There is no monetary compensation you can expect.
