Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Child support

My 18 year old son has been removed from his mothers house (by his mother). He is out of school but not yet working. Do I still pay support even if he is not living there? And what happens if he moves back home (which I hope he will)?

I have paid support for 15 years and have not missed a payment. Would like to know (the moment) when my legal obligation is over.

Thank you

Jerry George

Re: Child support

The basic rule is that child support is required until a child reaches 19 or becomes self sufficient, beyond this, you would need to speak with an attorney. You would need to file a motion with the court to eliminate the child support in any event.
