Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
Child Support/Medical Bills
I've been divorced to my two children's dad for 10 years. He's always paid his half of the medical bills as stated in the divorce agreement. Last Sept. he began ''bullying'' me by saying his accountant wanted copies of all receipts, copies, etc..of anything he pays for. Naturally, the orthodontist is a consistent monthly payment, he needs a statement anyway. I have accidentally lost, misplaced or never gotten a receipt at a Dr's office. Life happens. After meeting with my lawyer, we cannot afford to take him back to court, sure that he makes more and cut out this ridiculous game he plays. Any advice?

Re: Child Support/Medical Bills
Have the doctor's office print out a complete account history on your children, and send a copy along with a certified letter to your ex telling him to pay his half. State that if he does not pay his half, then you will file a petition with the court to have him held in contempt of court for not complying with the court's order. Copy his accountant with the letter.
