Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
after a child turns 18 and is out of high school,does a parent still have to pay support
even tho the child is no longer with the other parent?

Yep! Teh child does not reach the age of majority in Alabama until age 19. There may be some question as to where and with whom the child is living and that may have some determination as to who the support goes to. If the child is emancipated, then the support can end.
