what's best for the children

Hello,a friend of mine wants me to take custody of her twins when they are born.She want's me to adopt them at a later time.can she just place them in my care with out haveing to go though an adoption agency?and is there any forms i need to have to make this aragement legal?

She can sign an affidavit of custody but I do not believe it will give you the "legal" rights that you need to get medical care for the children. And, as you know, there are many immunization shots and the monthly checkups in addition to the times they may just be sick. If she wants you to adopt them, then she can do that just as easily now. You would need a lawyer for this process as it does involve many legal requirements to be valid.
