Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
My childs father and I went to court for a protection order last year, at our court hearing they ordered him to pay me $200 every other week in child support and gave him every Monday and thursday and every other weekend to get her. He has not been paying me any child support for about a month now. I am wanting to move to Illinois to stay with my father because he is going to help me go back to school so I can better my life for my daughter. What do I need to do to get permission to do this if my child's father is not trying to work with me at all? Will the courts let me do this because I am trying to better my life and hers? Or will I just be stuck here in a dead-end job?

You must go back to court to get the child support. You must also obey the Alabama manditory relocation statutes which requires you to notify the father 45 days before you plan to move. Google Section 30-3-160, Code of Alabama and read it. You should also seek the assistance of an attorney. DON"T just move without obeying the relocation statute.
