If a child's parents are not married, can the child come stay overnight at the father's house before the child is a year old?

There are not sufficient facts here. There is no statute that says the child can't. Has there been an adjudication of paternity? Is there a court order in place? If there is no adjudication of paternity the father has no real right to the child, and mom is in the driver's seat.
