Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
complaint against GAL, judge
Is there a way to submit a formal complaint against a GAL or judge or entire legal process? Is it even worth it or a waste of time? The GAL, who we asked to be dismissed b/c he did not take the case seriously, only met with the child 2 times, one of which was before the hearing? He met with us, the non custodial parent once and was unkempt (dirty hair, ragged clothes, hole in the crotch of his pants, sucked on a dumdum sucker the entire time). Is that acceptable.? The probate judge who heard the case was the same who originally granted the adoption, conflict of interest? The juvenille judge slept through the hearing and then refused the transcripts for an appeal? The circuit judge used to practice in the same law firm as the opposing councels lawyer? He also dismissed the GAL in the first 15min of the hearing and when challenged by our lawyer, denied our case w/o a hearing? Then, out of spite, mandated a rediculous GAL fee? It all seems very unprofessional, unethical, and very ''my cousin vinnie''. But is it all acceptable behavior? Is there such thing as a fair trial?

Key words - "our lawyer." Discuss with your lawyer who was actually involved in the case and knows what happened.
