Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
Please help me help my cousin
My cousin and her younger sister are under the custody of their mother. My cousin is 13 and wants to live with her father. Her mother won't let her see her friends and punishes her by forcing her to see her father less each week. My cousin grades dropped and she became very depressed. Her father keeps going to the court to have the judge change the custody to him but the judge won't do it. What also makes things worse is the fact that her mother's lawyer is the judge's 1st cousin. Even from the beginning the judge been messing things up, looking at different facts or at someone else's information for another family he is/was judging for. My cousin's mother is very cruel to her and no one understands why she even wanted to have the custody for them other than the money. I feel sorry for my cousin, and I only wish to help her. Her father is a good man, he doesn't do drugs or is an alcohol, and he would never harm them. Another factor that plays in this cruel court is the fact that he got the house but his kids have to live in a trailor with their mother. Please tell me what they should do? How can my uncle get the custody of his kids and how can my cousin's wishes be heard to live with her father? Please help us.

If the father has a lawyer, then the lawyer should know what to do. If he does not have a lawyer, then the first step would be to get him to contact a good family law lawyer. Bill Stern 248-353-9400
